You deserve a better browser ! 350 million people use Opera daily, a fully-fledged navigation experience that comes with various built-in packages, enhanced resource consumption and great design. Here's what Opera can do:

Some you might have forgotten, but Microsoft sure hasn’t neglected its aggressive Edge adoption campaign.

You might not have noticed it for a while, but the Redmond-based tech company is still trying to push as many users as possible into defaulting to Edge when it comes to browsers.

Now, a new ingenious method has been delivered through the latest Dev Channel Insider Preview, in the form of a desktop search bar.

New desktop search bar has been added to the Dev Channel

The untrained eye would say that this is a great addition and that there’s nothing wrong with it. However, the ones who know will definitely spot the catch.

And sure, a new desktop search bar would make things a lot easier and faster. But what if people really don’t want to use Edge?

Build 25120 rolled out to the Windows 11 Dev Channel recently and its highlight is a new search experience that pins a search bar to the center of your desktop.

As usual, without consulting the community, this component does not respect your default browser preferences.

As you would have imagined, users are not really happy about the price they have to pay for the new useful desktop feature.

That being said, note that Dev Channel features may not end up making their way to a generally available version of Windows at all.

Thus, if you aren’t a fan of the idea of a new way to browse the web but do not appreciate Microsoft forcing you to use Edge, voice your concerns in the Feedback Hub.

Don’t forget that Microsoft also launched a brand new build (25120) for the Windows Server Insiders as well, so you might want to check that out.
