If you have been longing to experience some of the mac features on Windows, now is your chance as Microsoft brings a new feature closer home.

To be more precise, it is rolling out new hardware indicator flyouts that resemble macOS and iOS ones to all Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel.

Microsoft has been for a long time updating some of its features to align with the Windows 11 design so it is no surprise that these new hardware indicators follow suit.

Which one is better Windows 11 or macOS?

There are many similarities between Windows 11 and macOS, such as the user interface. Users have shown a preference for macOS for its minimalistic interface and security features.

Windows 11 on the other hand has some system requirements that may lock out those who do not meet them. It all depends on what your needs are when choosing between the two. We have a comprehensive comparison guide of the two operating systems if you are yet to settle on one.

New macOS feature

Users have been asking for this design for a long time. The design is already present in the control panel, but some feel that it doesn’t work well on devices with touchscreens and doesn’t match the current design on the control panel.

We have updated the flyout design for the hardware indicators for brightness, volume, camera privacy, camera on/off and airplane mode, to align with Windows 11 design principles. These new flyouts will appear when you press the volume or brightness keys on your laptop and will honor light/dark mode to give you a more coherent Windows experience.

New phone call experience

This week, Microsoft announced a new Your Phone app feature will be made available to all Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel that will bring some macOS-like visuals to Windows.

This update includes a new in-progress call window with updated icons, fonts, and other UI changes that align with the improved design of Windows 11. Placing calls with the Your Phone app should still work as before with this new UI! Please try it out and share any comments with us via Feedback Hub under Apps > Your Phone.

These are just some of the new updated features but feel free to check out some of the best features Windows 11 has to offer.

Do you feel the new features are lying too much on macOS and robbing Windows 11 of its identity? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
