Here's how to create a Club on Xbox One and Windows 10

Microsoft’s Holiday update rolled out almost a week ago and with it came the wondrous convenience of organizing game sessions. Setting up group activities is now hassle-free and can be done online, instead of having to go over to your friend’s, to arrange a match. The update also features a bunch of new additions including clubs, Looking For Group and several other features available to the Xbox line and the Xbox app for Windows 10.

Clubs are designed to achieve a game-changing way for Xbox users to connect to multiple consoles or Windows 10 PCs. Xbox Live Club enables gamers to connect on a consolidated platform and use it to save or share clips and screenshots or even communicate via the chat room feature.

If you are even a little impressed with the features we informed you about, of the Xbox Live Club, here are the steps you need to take to create a club.

For Xbox One users

  • Navigate to the Community Tab via the Xbox button and then selecting Home 
  • On the extreme right, you will spot the option Clubs on Xbox, select it and then choose Create a Club.
  • Select your club’s type:
    • Public Clubs: only members of the club are granted the permission to chat, while others can find the club, play it and browse through the club’s content.
    • Private Clubs: only members of the club can play, browse through the club’s content and use the chat feature, but everyone can find the club.
    • Hidden Clubs: visible only to the members of the club, while playing and chatting authorities, are also granted only to members.
  • Pick an appropriate name for your club, and then select Continue. Also, keep in mind to make it as generic as possible so that it can be easily searchable.
  • Add additional information about the Club, that will draw like-minded people to your club via the search option:
    • Description
    • Background image
    • Logo
    • Descriptive tags
  • Now, you are given the option to correlate your Club with specific games. While selecting games, note that these are going to be the ones your club will play frequently. Also, your Club will appear in the associated title’s Game Hubs.

    • For any future editing regarding the Club’s settings, you can do it via the Club homepage and selecting Customize. You can add a background, a profile picture, and add other personal touches to make your club look more lively.

    For PC users

  • Navigate to the Windows 10 Xbox app, by typing “Xbox” into the Start Menu.
  • In the left-side hamburger menu, select Clubs.
  • In the top right-hand corner of the Clubs section, select Create a Club.
  • Select your club’s type:
  • Public Clubs: only members of the club are granted the permission to chat, while others can find the club, play it and browse through the club’s content.
