However, many users reported Assertion failed messages in Epic Privacy Browser, and today we’ll show you how to fix it once and for all.

Assertion (Assert) failed!

How can I fix Epic Privacy Browser assertion failed errors?

1. Try a different browser

2. Change the Read-only attribute

In the Windows search bar type regedit and click on the first result. It should be Registry Editor.  If you can’t access Registry Editor, be sure to check our guide on how to fix it.

Right-click on Run and select Permissions…

If the Permissions are set to Read, change them to Full Control.

After this, try to install Epic browser and see if it works. We recommend to proceed with caution: modifying registry keys can lead to system errors, so if you’re unsure, best follow the next steps.

3. Update your Windows 10

Go to Start > Settings.

Now click on Update & Security.

In the left side-panel, make sure that Windows Update is selected and then in the right section click on Check for updates.

4. Disable the Firewall

In the Windows search box type Control Panel and hit Enter.

Select System and Security > then Windows Defender Firewall.

Now click on the checkmark in front of Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended).

That’s it. This should solve the assertion problem with the Epic browser.
